Attach help and support

Set up uploads
- Open Attach from Shopify admin as the store’s account owner. Setup takes about five minutes and saves your progress.
- Connect your theme: turn on Customer uploads loader in App embeds, then add the Product file uploads block using the theme-editor links in Attach. The embed runs in the background; the block is the file field customers see. Save each change in Shopify. Setup continues once Attach finds both on your published theme. The cart, cart drawer and checkout list each file by name as “Reference photo” (photos-only products) or “Reference file”.
- Choose your first product, write its field label and instructions, and pick which file types it accepts: photos, PDF, design files, ZIP archives, Office documents or video. You can also set a lower maximum file size than your plan allows.
- Start your free trial and accept the processing terms once for your store. Shopify asks you to approve the plan.
- Check the field on your store, then optionally pin the Customer uploads block to Shopify order details. Test with a sample file and a test order to check the order line and original download. Accelerated checkout, quick add and cart drawers aren’t supported for adding files unless they’ve been specifically qualified for your theme.

Replace, remove or recover a file
Each cart line holds one file, which applies to every unit on that line. To change a file added on the product page, remove the item from the cart and add it again with the new file. If your store shows a cart file control, you can replace or remove the file there. A failed replacement keeps the previous file until the new one is validated and attached; choose Keep existing file or continue without a file. Large uploads resume automatically after a brief connection drop; if an upload stops, choose Retry upload. If a cart update can’t be confirmed, choose Refresh cart before retrying; Attach won’t add a second line on its own. Vehicle and order-note drafts are kept during supported cart updates.
Find order files
In Attach, open Files and search by order number (for example #1042), or add and pin the Attach order-details block in Shopify Admin. The account owner can see each file’s status and expiry and download originals. Download links expire within five minutes; get a new one when needed. An order isn’t proof of payment or fulfillment. For older orders, Shopify may no longer let Attach read current order details; Attach then shows the files it saved and labels them.
Storage, cancellation and expiry
Export originals and the manifest before they expire. Deletion is permanent, and Attach isn’t a backup or restore service. Deleting a file doesn’t restore the monthly order-file allowance. Files are checked for their type but not scanned for malware; open ZIP archives and Office documents only from customers you trust. A full or lowered storage cap, or an inactive plan, stops new uploads; existing files stay downloadable by the account owner until they expire. Review plan and storage changes in Attach before confirming them in Shopify.
